Today I managed to pull everyone together enough to leave the house this morning. I met two girlfriends for coffee at Panera and then went grocery shopping! I didn't run into a single person I knew (of course, because I had managed to shower this morning and even put a little bronzer on my face). By the time I got home at 12:00 I was downright exhausted! Have a good weekend everyone!Friday, July 31, 2009

Just Trying To Keep It Together!

This onsie says it all! Little Miss Payton is a High Maintenance gal! She is also a very hungry gal! She is eating pretty much every hour and a half. Poor Mommy can't get any sleep. Luckily my wonderful husband is taking over for a few hours every night when he gets home, so I can rest. It's true what they say about going from one child to two children. It's a lot of work! Ryan is being pretty understanding about it and is doing his best to help out with his little sister. We tried to go on our first outing yesterday. A new Wal-Mart was built within 2 miles from our house. I was so excited to go and check it out. I live in a pretty big neighborhood and know a lot of stay at home Moms. I should have known better. I now know that I must at least shower before I hit the local Wal-Mart as I am sure to run into just about everyone I know! When we went yesterday I had not showered in about two days. I was looking pretty rough! I would turn a corner around an aisle and run into neighbor after neighbor! I felt like I was dodging bullets! It was pretty funny.

Mamacita Fashionista!
I came across this website shortly after I had my son. Darling Mummy has some of the cutest tshirts that will make you the hit of the playground! The first tshirt I ordered was the "Mommy Juice" shirt with the wine glass. Every time I wear it I get compliments. I even have one of their Christmas shirts I wear every year when I wrap Christmas presents. They come out with new "yummy tshirts" quite often. These shirts are super cute, comfy and fun. It goes to show that Mommy hood can still have a sense of humor!

Checking In
I hate to do posts without pictures, but I haven't had a chance to download the pics from my camera yet! As you can image, we have been very busy. Things are going great though, and I couldn't be any happier. Payton has been a dream. I have a feeling I am going to eat my words here in the future, but she has been so great. She sleeps a lot and only whimpers a little when she needs fed or changed. She coos and it even looks like she is giving us smiles. She still has yet to do any screaming meltdowns. I feel very lucky. Big brother Ryan is doing great. So far he seems very protective of her, which is neat for me to see. We have a lot of help here now. My parents are staying with us for two weeks, so things are smooth now. I think it's going to get a lot harder once they leave, so I am going to try to enjoy it now.

Off To The Hospital!
Well the big day has arrived! We will be meeting our little Payton Jane in just a few hours! Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers today. Pray for healthy babies and Mommies!
Yesterday my girlfriends and I met for a sendoff brunch. It was really nice and I feel blessed to have such wonderful women in my life. I don't know when I will be able to post again. I am not planning on taking the laptop to the hospital. So we should be able to post pictures in a few days. Have a great week everyone!!

Low Key Weekend - One Day To Go!
I think this is a horrible picture, but I will post it anyway. You can see I am ready to go! It was very hot around here this weekend, so I pretty much just hung out at home. My hubby was so great in finishing a huge "Honey Do" list I had for him. We went out for dinner last night to a new sushi restaurant for our "last supper" as a family of three. I am meeting some of my best girlfriends for breakfast at Mimi's Cafe (if you have one of these close by, they have the BEST breakfast!) this morning. Then I have a three hour post opp doctors appointment. So it's a pretty busy day. I have to be at the hospital tomorrow at 10:30 so I might have time to do one more post before I have this baby. I hope everyone has a great day!

4 Days To Go! Packing For The Hospital
I am packing up our bags for the hospital today. This is the outfit Payton will wear home from the hospital! We better hope we don't decide to change her name once she is born, we have way too many things monogrammed!!
I am taking 6 outfits for her. Is this too much? Or too little? It's been nearly 5 years since I last did this. The last time we were in the hospital for 4 days due to some complications. I think this should have us covered.

Check Out My Tutu!
It came out so well! I am very happy with it! I can picture little baby Payton wearing this with an Indianapolis Colts onsie on Sundays this football season.*UPDATE - A comment from a blogger made me realize that it might seem to people we are naming our baby Payton after our favorite quarterback, but I assure you that is not the case. We are from Indianapolis and have huge pride in our team, but we have named her after our grandmothers. It has nothing to do with Peyton Manning (but sometimes my hubby acts like it does). Thanks for letting me clear that up :)

Martha Wannabe
I have always been one of those people who looked at something and thought "I could make that". Even though I feel I don't make them as well as some, if it's just something for me or my kids I don't worry about it being so perfect. So this week, since we are just hanging around in the AC, I decided to try some new things. Ryan and I hit up Hobby Lobby this morning and got some iron on rhinestones and blank onsies. I also am going to attempt to make my first tutu (in blue and white for the Indianapolis Colts!). We'll see how it all comes out, wish me luck!!Monday, July 6, 2009
8 More Days!!
We got a new computer and I am trying to figure out this Vista thing. I wanted to post some pics from the 4th of July, but it wasn't working properly (maybe it's the user!). Anyway, my countdown is really starting to speed up! We have 8 more days until baby Payton arrives! This week I am just waddling around my house doing last minute preparations. My too do list is as follows:
- Get carpets cleaned
- Get house completely cleaned and sanitized
- Clean stroller (that hubby pulled out of the attic this weekend)
- Install Car seat
- Set up my breast pump (thought you'd like to know that)
- Get mani/pedi, eyebrow wax
- Get my highlights done
- Get Ryan's haircut (who knows when I'll be able to get it cut again!)
- Make sure house is stocked with food and all the paper supplies we'll need for a few weeks
- Finish packing for hospital!!
So if you need me, this is what you'll find me doing!!!

Here's Something You Don't See Everyday!
Our neighbor down the street is having a pool put in. Yesterday the pool was brought in on a truck and craned into their backyard. It was quite an exciting day for our little street. People set up lawn chairs and just watched. The kids, of course, had a blast watching all the excitement.
This is the pool on the truck before they started backing it down our street. The kids are standing in front. You can hardly see the house behind it.
